Για τη χειμερινή περίοδο 2014 – 2015 οι συζητήσεις θα πραγματοποιούνται ημέρα Τετάρτη και ώρα 7.30 μ.μ. με μέγιστη διάρκεια 2 ωρών.
Στην πορεία, ενδέχεται να προστεθούν και ορισμένες ακόμα εκδηλώσεις, μέχρι τα τέλη Απριλίου 2015, για τις οποίες θα βγει ξεχωριστή ανακοίνωση στο www.facebook.com/DaseinLab
Η είσοδος στις συζητήσεις είναι ελεύθερη. Ωστόσο, για την καλύτερη οργάνωση και λόγω των περιορισμένων θέσεων στο lobby του 2ου ορόφου του πολυχώρου Άνεσις, σε ορισμένες ομιλίες ενδέχεται θα μοιράζονται κουπόνια προτεραιότητας στην είσοδο του ισογείου. Όσοι επιθυμούν να εξασφαλίσουν την συμμετοχή τους στις συζητήσεις, είναι καλύτερο να δηλώνουν εγκαίρως συμμετοχή μέσω e-mail (daseinlab@yahoo.com) πριν από την κάθε εκδήλωση, ώστε να υπάρχει κράτηση της θέσης τους. Η προσέλευση θα πρέπει να γίνεται αυστηρά μέχρι τις 7.10μ.μ. Πέραν αυτού του ορίου οι θέσεις (ακόμα κι αν είναι κρατημένες) θα διατίθενται με σειρά προτεραιότητας. Two Phd studentships (fully funded for three years) at the University of Vienna The first studentship is earmarked for a project at the borderline of philosophy of science and physics: (1) projects in general philosophy of science with reference to the history or the current state of the physical sciences; or (2) projects in the philosophy of physics itself. Projects in (1) might focus on debates over scientific realism, on the unity/disunity, pluralism/monism debates, on the relationship between experiment and theory, or on the role of intuitions in physical theorizing. Projects in (2) might e.g. focus on philosophical questions concerning quantum gravity and quantum optics, or the role of irreversibility in philosophy and (quantum) physics. -- Work in this area would be co-supervised by one of the philosophers in the in the doctoral college (professors Kusch, Nemeth or Stadler) together with a physicist (professor Aspelmeyer). We invite submissions by female graduate students and early career researchers (within five years of completion of PhD) for the Ancient Philosophy Workshop to be held on 1.-2. 12. 2014 at the Humboldt University Berlin. This workshop is sponsored by the Research Training Group: Philosophy, Science and the Sciences of the Humboldt University Berlin. Our goal is to provide young and highly talented female philosophers with the opportunity to present their work and interact with each other.
Papers should be about 5000 words long, and can be on any topic in Ancient philosophy. Papers will be blind-reviewed. Format of the workshop: this is a pre-read conference; sessions last 75 minutes (15 minutes summary of the paper + 60 minutes discussion). Accommodation and meals will be covered for all speakers.
