The Plato Centre at Trinity College Dublin (www.tcd.ie/plato), in co-ordination with the Philosophy and Classics Departments at Trinity, invites applications for a Newman Fellowship, which is tenable from September 2014 to August 2015 and will include a stipend of €12,000 for EU applicants and €15,000 for non-EU applicants. The fellowship is for either a PhD student or a postdoctoral researcher with a project in ancient philosophy. Applicants who intend to work on a PhD project must, at the same time, apply to either the Philosophy or Classics Departments, as prospective PhD students, through the usual process. The successful applicant will be expected to take an active interest in, and work closely together with the members of, the Plato Centre. Applications should be received no later than Monday 10 March 2014. They should consist of: a CV; a 1,000 word project description; a writing sample (max 7,000 words); and the names of two referees. Applications should be submitted electronically to: Professor Vasilis Politis, Director of the Plato Centre at firstname.lastname@example.org.
